School Revenue Forecast

K-12 funding now comprises almost half of the State General Fund Budget, and state funding is the primary source of K-12 revenue. With that in mind, the Governor's Revenue Forecast Committee was established in 1999.

This committee's task is to calculate an "essential budget level" budget for K-12 schools. The figure is the amount of state funding required to keep the current level of program available in the state's K-12 system.

The forecast is to be provided with the December 1 Oregon Economic and Revenue Forecast in even numbered years.  Here is the latest forecast.

The COSA Executive Director is a member of the committee.
