Session I: Dealing with the Partially Incapacitated Client: How to Prevent Financial Abuse, Undue Influence and Other Ills of Aging
Americans may be living longer, but their disabilityfree life expectancy is not increasing at a similar pace. Cognitive impairment and dementia are on the rise; financial and other forms of elder abuse follow in their wake. Trusts and estates attorneys are often on the front lines, either meeting with a new client of marginal or doubtful capacity, or acting on behalf of family members displaced by a friend, neighbor, caregiver or other family member. We will discuss the most recent developments in this burgeoning practice area.
