Scope summary:
This specification covers the design, use, and material requirements of reinforcement supports used in concrete to support various types of reinforcement, including but not limited to plain and deformed reinforcing bars, prestressing steel, post-tensioning tendons, steel wire, and plain and deformed steel welded wire reinforcement. Reinforcement supports shall be made of material that is structurally sound and inert in concrete, such as metal, cementitious (precast), or a composite (plastic) material. Any type of reinforcement support may be selected, provided the support maintains the required concrete cover and that it meets specific project required. ANSI approved.
