Medicare Under the Microscope

Home Care and Hospice are undergoing considerable changes and providers are being subject to increasing and costly regulatory requirements. At the same time, reimbursement for care is diminishing. Congress is discussing the federal budget and some are advocating additional and continuing cuts to Medicare as well as restructuring of the Medicare program as a means of reducing federal outlays. Some plans would merge Parts A and B and impose a uniform copay and deductible requirement, which would have a serious negative impact or affect services to Medicare beneficiaries.

Objectives:

  • Define and discuss regulatory and reimbursement changes related to delivery of home and hospice under the Medicare benefit
  • Review proposed strategies for advocacy to work toward positive changes in reimbursement and regulations
  • Identify additional ideas and opportunities to work together to insure optimal change
