This Webinar was held on Thursday, April 7, 2016

Today’s young children are tomorrow’s readers and your future library patrons. Libraries can be key players in helping children be ready to learn to read. It all begins with early literacy.

In this one hour program, Amy Schardein will give you resources and  tools that you will be able to use immediately and cover important information on:  examples of early literacy; the role of all staff members in encouraging the development in Early Literacy; the imimportance of emphasizing early literacy skills in story times, and; beyond story times and  how early literacy best practices can be a part of the whole library.

Participants will receive a bibliography of books and websites.

Presented by:  Amy Schardein, MLS

Amy Schardein is a Children's Librarian in Covington, KY for the Kenton County Public Library. Ms. Schardein has specialized in early childhood literacy for over ten years and has presented on a variety of topics in this area and has won several awards for her programming.
