Speaker Biography

Walt Youngman is president of Walter C. Youngman, Jr., A Professional Corporation, which is the founding partner of the law firm of Youngman, Ericsson & Low, LLP. Mr. Youngman is an acknowledged expert in designing and implementing sophisticated income and estate plans and is widely respected for his expertise in tax matters.

Born in Berkeley and raised in Oakland, California, Mr. Youngman received his B.S. in accounting and finance from San Jose State University in 1964. He received his J.D. in 1967 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Mr. Youngman became a certified public accountant in 1970 and practiced as a tax manager with the firm of Coopers & Lybrand, Certified Public Accountants, in San Francisco from 1967 through 1972. He has practiced in Walnut Creek since 1972. Over the years, Mr. Youngman has actively lectured in law and taxation at such institutions as John F. Kennedy University Law School, Golden Gate University, Cal State Hayward, DeAnza College, and Foothill College.

Mr. Youngman is an active member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He has served as president of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and as president of the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley. Mr. Youngman is also a strong supporter of community organizations. He has served as Chairman of the Board, Mt. Diablo YMCA; President of the Rotary Club of Walnut Creek, and continues to be an active participant with the Rotary Club and Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce.
