Anne McSweeney, LMSW and
Managing Partner of The Elder Law Key, has a diverse background in community
relations and medical social work. The combination of these different
backgrounds provides Anne with an innovative perspective for marketing and
community relations. Prior to co-founding The Elder Law Key, Anne
has worked with Elder Law attorneys on both a national and local level for over
eight years. Using her proven marketing strategies, she coaches attorneys and
their marketers to build and maintain strong referral relationships which result
in referral and revenue increases. Using targeted marketing initiatives, she has
been able to help her client’s firms achieve increases of call volumes by as
much as 200%. To cite one example, by using her innovative marketing techniques,
another firm she worked with increased business by 60% in one year, enabling
them to achieve $1 million in revenue for the first time. Anne also
coordinates quality and innovative Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for social
workers, case managers and discharge planners. She has very strong relationships
among her peers and other medical social workers and has found a niche in
providing educational events for them. Anne’s experience in social
work spans more than 15 years and includes experience in hospice, home health,
dialysis, long-range planning for geriatric clients, and general patient
counseling. Anne worked as a licensed medical social worker, where her
day-to-day responsibilities included: home visits, psychosocial assessments, and
patient advocacy. Managing a case load of as many as 125 patients, Anne worked
in conjunction with other social service agencies and provided ongoing support
and counseling. With both organizations, she served as an active member of the
interdisciplinary team which consisted of physicians, nurses, therapists, and
other social workers. Her vast social work experience provides her with a
unique, “insiders” perspective to marketing to healthcare professionals.
Anne received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University
of Alabama and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Auburn
University
Miles Hurley,
Hurley Elder Care Law
Miles Hurley has
been in the legal field for over 18 years and is the founding partner of Hurley
Elder Care Law, which was created to provide comprehensive legal solutions for
families with age-related events. Miles is a native of Knoxville,
Tennessee. He received his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College
of Law and did his undergraduate work at Emory University and the University of
Tennessee. In addition, Miles received the Elder Law Attorney Certification from
the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), making him one of only seven certified
elder law attorneys in Georgia - and one of less than 400 hundred nationwide. He
is a founding member, a board member and a current vice-president of the Life
Care Planning Law Firms Association. Mr. Hurley serves on the board of directors
for the Lewy Body Dementia Association. In addition, Miles has
developed and maintained extremely efficient and effective practice methods and
skills which resulted in firm growth of over 60% in a one year period. He
created intra-office processes and streamlined effective techniques which he
desires to share with other elder law attorneys to help them develop their
practices. His firm is known as the dominant firm in the Atlanta area and has a
very positive reputation among senior professionals. He is highly respected by
his peers and has served as past president of the GA Chapter of the National
Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He lives in Atlanta, with his wife
and three sons.
