Description
A
review of key changes to Circular 230 including provisions dealing
with preparer registration by the IRS, confidence levels for return
positions, standards of conduct, and acts discreditable. Tips for
being compliant with Circular 230 will also be covered.
Speaker
ANNETTE NELLEN,
CPA, ESQ., is a professor in and
director of San Jose State University's graduate tax program (MST),
teaching courses in tax research, accounting methods, property
transactions, state taxation, ethics, tax policy, and high
technology tax issues. Annette is the chair of the AICPA
Individual Taxation Technical Resource Panel and is a past member
of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee. She has testified on tax
reform topics before California and federal legislative committees
and tax reform commissions. Prior to joining SJSU, she was with
Ernst & Young and the IRS. She maintains the 21st Century
Taxation website and blog at http://www.21stcenturytaxation.com.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
INFORMATION
AAA-CPA continuing education programs are
designed to meet the needs of Attorneys and CPAs and to qualify for
credit both as CPE and CLE. Of course, the decisions of various state
authorities determine the actual credit granted. There are no
prerequisites or advance preparation requirements for this course.
Accounting CPE/Legal CLE/MCLE
The American Association of Attorney-CPAsis registered with
the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a
sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of
CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the
acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding
registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE
Sponsors through its website www.learningmarket.org. A
brochure with full details of the program is available from the
association at 888-288-9272. These programs meet the NASBA standards of 1
(50 minute) hour of instruction. If you require CLE in a state not
mentioned, please call our national office and we will do our best to
arrange for credit in your state.
