International Estate Planning and Reporting--It's a Small World
co-sponsored by: Estate Planning Committee of the AAA-CPA
Presenter: Charles F. Schultz, JD, CPA, Tax Partner, McGladrey & Pullen LLP
Moderator: David Henderson, CPA, JD, LLM, Duggan Bertsch, LLC
With
the increasing sophistication of our clients’ personal and business affairs,
greater attention must be placed upon planning beyond the U.S. borders. Chuck Schultz will
offer key insights on the following issues:
1. The
proper planning protocol for the multinational client, and specifically, when
is only one estate plan not good enough;
2. The
planning quirks of certain foreign transfer tax jurisdictions, and how to plan
around them;
3. The
opportunities and traps of foreign transfer tax planning as well as the
planning differences between “treaty” and “non-treaty” jurisdictions;
4. The
do’s and don’t’s related to offshore trust planning;
5. The
increasing tax reporting responsibilities we have . . . welcome to Form 8938;
and
6. The
important role we, as tax consultants, must now play to meet our clients
international planning needs.
