Webinar Summary
PFAS contamination awareness and increasingly stringent health-based guidance are continuously, and often abruptly, sending drinking water suppliers out of compliance. In 2017, the City of Cottage Grove rapidly designed and constructed an interim treatment system utilizing GAC filters when two wells were out of compliance due to PFAS contamination. As the next step in the path toward developing PFAS resiliency, a pilot study is being conducted to compare the efficacy of ion exchange resin to GAC and demonstrate key operational parameters needed to achieve effective ion-exchange performance.
