Increased readiness by the pediatric community to respond to these events goes a long way towards mitigating the impact of disasters on victims and their families. This webinar presents an introduction to disaster preparedness for those involved in the medical care of children and should be beneficial to those in community and hospital settings alike. Learning objectives of this presentation are to:
1. Review ways to prepare our hospitals and practices for disasters
2. Outline disaster related competencies applicable to pediatric providers
3. Direct professionals to appropriate educational resources for disaster preparation and response
