Event Description

How to Build an Audience with Search Engine Optimization ...  As Long as That’s Not All You Do

When building your online audience, experience has shown Kevin Novak, founder and CEO of 2040 Digital, that you and your team must look at SEO as one piece of a larger pie.

Optimizing your site to draw and retain people and immerse them in your awesome content requires connection and thought across the nuances of your audience: that is, how they consume your content and how you maximize short- and long-tail keywords along with your readers consumption behaviors.  Kevin will present an audience engagement workshop that will take you around the full circle of drawing traffic organically and delivering content and experience beyond expectations.

Kevin Novak, a seasoned association, business and government executive and Founder and CEO of 2040 Digital (see below), has spent nearly two decades helping organizations find their place in the digital world. His work has earned him five Webby Awards, an international award for “excellence on the Internet”.

As vice president of new business development and digital strategies for the American Institute of Architects, he built AIA’s digital strategy and led product and partnership development to maximize existing revenue streams and build new ones. As chief digital officer and director of education outreach at the Library of Congress, he built a centralized digital division to bring the Library’s many disparate websites into a cohesive experience and led several other key Library initiatives.

He has chaired working groups in large-scale web- and cloud-based endeavors. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Business Information Association (BIA-Connectiv), the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA), and the Specialty Information Publishers Association (SIPA).
