Mark Corteil, Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer and Head of Credit & Global Markets Risk, State Street
Mark Corteil is Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer and Head of Credit & Global Markets Risk within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Mark has responsibility for all credit and market risk globally and is a member of ERM's Executive Management Team.
Prior to joining State Street in May 2011, Mark was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank AG. He joined Deutsche Bank in 2000, having started in London before moving to New York in 2002, and held a number of roles with credit risk management. Most recently, Mark was responsible for Deutsche Bank's counterparty credit risk to all financial institutions in developed markets, and served on a variety of credit and policy committees.
From 1996-2000, Mark was a senior credit manager at Nomura Bank in London, having spent the previous 10 years in a variety of roles at NatWest Bank in the UK.
Frank Morisano, Chief Risk Officer, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)
Mr. Morisano is Chief Risk Officer at the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (“ICBC”) overseeing their operations in the Americas. He has responsibility for risk management, liquidity, governance, and cyber-security.
Previously, he was at PwC Consulting, General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Bank of America, and JPMorgan Chase. He also spent over a decade working and living in China.
He serves as an independent director of a data analytics Fintech firm and at a private company where he chairs the audit committee. He received his credit training at the Chase Manhattan Bank, holds an MSc in Information Systems and a BBA in Statistics.
Frank Piazza, Senior Vice President, Group Risk Management - Credit, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)
As Senior Vice President, Group Risk Management - Credit, Frank Piazza is responsible for the bank’s risk management interface with the RBC Capital Markets Banking platform in New York. He is the Senior Risk Officer for the strategic management of borrower and counterparty risk analysis and credit approval for the asset based securitization, US Public Sector, technology, healthcare, communications, media and entertainment, aerospace and defence sectors. Frank is also the Chief Credit Officer of the bank’s U.S. holding company and chairs its Credit Risk Committee.
Frank has an MBA in Finance from McGill University and is a graduate of Concordia University. He joined RBC in 1989 and has held various positions in client-facing roles in Corporate Banking and Structured Finance in Montreal, Toronto and London. He was appointed Vice President, Risk Management in 1999. He assumed his current responsibilities in September 2017.
Mr. Piazza and his wife Marie live in New York, with their daughter.
Jeremy Smith, Executive Vice President and Head of Market and Counterparty Risk Management, Wells Fargo
Jeremy Smith, Executive Vice President and head of Market and Counterparty Risk Management ("MCRM"). MCRM is responsible for identification, governance, oversight, measurement, aggregation, and reporting of all market and counterparty risk activities across the enterprise.
Smith began his banking career with Wells Fargo in 1999. Most recently, Smith was head of Wholesale Market, Counterparty, and Liquidity Risk responsible for oversight of these risks across all capital markets activity in the Wholesale Banking Division including derivatives, foreign exchange, corporate bonds, asset backed securities, equities, investment solutions, par loans, prime brokerage, and our futures commission merchant.
Previously, he was a loan supervisor in Commercial Banking. His responsibilities included credit oversight for several mid-west states, credit policy and portfolio management. During his career with Wells Fargo, he has worked in Atlanta, Georgia, as a relationship manager with the Real Estate group and as the loan team manager of the Kansas City RCBO.
Jeremy earned a B.A. degree in economics with a minor in international finance at the University of Washington in Seattle. He was born in Totnes, United Kingdom and has lived and worked in the U.K., Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Monaco, and various parts of the United States. He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife and daughter.
