Committees Leadership
A list of our committees is presented below:

  • Community Service/Events
    Works closely with the Events Committee in coordinating and executing projects beneficial to the community for the purpose of creating and maintaining a positive public image for the Darien Board of REALTORSĀ® and its members. They are also responsible for the arrangements for the Annual Meeting/Holiday Party, and future special Membership events and parties.
  • Computer/Technology
    This committee reviews the MLS computer system and suggestions brought to its attention by members. Makes recommendations to the Board for any changes to the MLS. Review forms and makes appropriate changes. Works as liason between members, Board of Directors and computer vendor.
  • CTR Directors
    Darien is entitled to three (3) Directors for the Connecticut Association of Realtors. The Board President is an automatic Director. One REALTOR and one REALTOR ASSOCIATE member are the other two Directors. Requirements are to attend the three (3) CTR Board of Directors meetings and the Region 1 meetings held the previous week.
  • Financial Committee
  • Grievance Committee
    This committee consists of eight (8) Board members, a majority of which shall be REALTORS. The duties of this committee are: (1) to conduct preliminary investigations of complaints; (2) make a determination as to the validity of a grievance; and (3) to dismiss or to pass on complaints to the Professional Standards Committee. This is a standing committee.
  • New Member/Education
    This Committee is responsible for administering the education requirements for all new applicants for Board membership on a one-to-one basis.
  • Nominating Committee
    This Committee oversees the Election process of Officers and Directors to the Darien Board of Realtors. It consists of seven (7) members. This is a standing Committee.
  • Professional Standards
    This committee hears matters of alleged ethical misconduct by Board members and to provide arbitration as requested after an Ethics or Arbitration complaint has been reviewed by the Grievance Committee and passed on by them for a hearing. Mediation in an arbitration is offered to both parties prior to a hearing. Committee consists of at least nine (9) members, a majority of which shall be REALTORS. ( A PSCS certification from CAR is desirable.) This is a standing Committee.
  • RPAC, Realtor Political Fundraising Committee
    This committee is responsible for proactively representing CAR's interest in public policy matters at the state level, attending REALTORS AT THE CAPITAL, supporting NAR's political programs and promoting effective REALTOR involvement in the political process. Coordinating the Board's RPAC fundraising efforts.
