Fulfills the MANDATORY Fair Housing requirement for NYS license renewal.

How to assure you are obeying Fair Housing practices and stay out of the BIG house! The do’s and don’ts of leasing, subleasing, evictions, etc.

 

45 Hour Brokers / Associate Brokers Qualifying Course

May 10th – June 28th

Gives you 22.5 hours CE credit. Wednesdays 9:00am – 3:00pm. Cost: $450.

**If you became licensed prior to July 1 of 2008 you must complete the 30 hour GAP course to qualify to become a broker*** Everything you need to become licensed real estate broker / associate broker.

The who when where and why of Agency Disclosure. Who is the Broker’s agent? To whom does the Broker’s Agent owe fiduciary responsibility? You want to be sure you have it right! Role playing discussion, power point, and class participation encouraged. Fulfills the new DOS Agency requirement for license renewal.

New member Ethics fulfills the NAR mandatory Code of Ethics and is required to obtain full REALTOR status. New Member Orientation must be completed within 120 days of membership application. Also satisfies your ethics requirement for the 2017 – 2018 cycle.

 

 

The Code of Ethics 5

June 27th, 6:00 – 9:00pm

3 hours CE credit.  Instructor: Christine Jones.  Cost: $40.00.

The code of Ethics changes OFTEN. Stay informed and up to date on how you should be conducting business as a REALTOR. Satisfies the NAR mandated Code of Ethics requirement for the cycle.

All REALTORS must complete this course every two years in order to maintain their REALTOR status.

The current ethics cycle is 2017 – 2018. All REALTORS must complete this class prior to Dec 31, 2018.

Salesperson Qualifying Course

Cost: $650. Plus textbook ($65)

Everything you need to become licensed real estate sales associate. This class can also be used for the 30 hours Salesperson Remedial Qualifying course. 30 hours of continuing education.

Fair Housing “What You Say & What You Do Can Hurt You”

Understand how the Fair Housing Act applies to advertising. Acceptable descriptions and words to avoid in your ads to guard against discrimination. Ads will be critiqued (non-verbs ads, too).

Condos, Co-ops, and Townhouses Made Easier to Understand

October 25th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm

3.0 Hours CE Credit. Instructor: Tammy Benkwitt. Cost $50

It can be confusing to the consumer to identify various types of properties and the responsibility each carries.  It is critical that real estate agents educate consumers correctly.   The emphasis in the class will be on condominiums, cooperatives, single family attached town houses, and detached properties that are cooperative or are part of a homeowners association and have a set of rules and regulations. The goal of this class is for agents to be able to identify and understand the often complex differences in the way real estate is owned so they can better serve their clients and customers.

November 29th5:00pm – 8:00pm

Your role at closing, understand the chain of title, abstract report , marketable title, closing statement, credits & debits, adjustments & prorating, calculating tax adjustments, RESPA, method of notice, HUD-1 form. The closing is the goal – know what is happening at the closing!
