The Code and Standards Group meets monthly to discuss the status of National, State, and Local Electrical Codes, Utility Company standards and requirements, UL and NEMA standards, Energy Codes, Electrical Products and other issues related to Electrical systems design, installation and operation. Committee participants include representatives from engineering, contracting, product manufacturing, State and City inspection, Utility companies, and any interested parties. At any given meeting, 20 different perspectives and specialties may be represented.

Several group members participate on Code writing panels and discussions include alerts on new issues, attempts to resolve conflicts on existing codes, and sharing experiences concerning electrical and safety items.

Bring your questions and problems for consideration to this meeting or as a suggestion for a future meeting topic.

Schedule and Minutes

The Committee normally meets the third Wednesday of the month, September through June. Check the schedule each month as the location rotates between PSE in Bellevue, Snohomish PUD in Everett, and Seattle. Minutes from the previous meeting, and an agenda for the upcoming meeting, are sent via an email distribution list a few days prior to the meeting date. Meeting Location Information for February 18, 2015

This month's meeting will be in the Forum Room in the EST Building on the PSE campus (eastern-most building of the two). There is a coffee shop nearby where some gather for pre-meeting coffee at 7:00 (in the PSE Building lobby - western-most building of the two) - donuts are provided for the 7:30 meeting start.
 
The Forum Room is located in the Puget Sound Energy EST Building, 355 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue, 98004. The Forum Room is located in the SE corner on the lobby level. Go past the reception counter and along the hallway following that wall to the room, which is clearly marked.

Parking

Underground parking is available in the PSE parking garage for $9.00 for 1-2 hours and $11.00 for 2-3 hours. Access to the parking garage is available via either 108th or 110th Street. Free 2-hour parking should be available early in the morning on side streets immediately south of the PSE complex.
