The Code and Standards Group meets monthly to discuss the status of National, State, and Local Electrical Codes, Utility Company standards and requirements, UL and NEMA standards, Energy Codes, Electrical Products and other issues related to Electrical systems design, installation and operation. Committee participants include representatives from engineering, contracting, product manufacturing, State and City inspection, Utility companies, and any interested parties. At any given meeting, 20 different perspectives and specialties may be represented.
Several group members participate on Code writing panels and discussions include alerts on new issues, attempts to resolve conflicts on existing codes, and sharing experiences concerning electrical and safety items.
Bring your questions and problems for consideration to this meeting or as a suggestion for a future meeting topic.
Schedule and Minutes
The Committee normally meets the third Wednesday of the month, September through June. Check the schedule each month as the location rotates between PSE in Bellevue, Snohomish PUD in Everett, and Seattle. Minutes from the previous meeting, and an agenda for the upcoming meeting, are sent via an email distribution list a few days prior to the meeting date. Contact Brook Walker in the League Office if you would like to be included in that distribution: 425-498-8098 or email@example.com. In addition, you may view previous Code Committee minutes and related PDF reports on our website, www.electricleague.net.
Meeting Location Information for January 16
5005 3rd Avenue South, Seattle McKinstry Co. "Garage" meeting room
Please enter the building via the main entrance on 3nd Avenue South. The receptionist unlocks the doors at 7:00 AM but all other entrances into the building are secured 24/7, including the doors that are the closest to the parking garage.
Visitors must be escorted so Dan Steinert will greet people in the main lobby. There will be ‘Visitor’ stickers for everyone at the front desk.
The closest parking spots to the front door would be the ‘Visitor’ spots along 3nd Avenue South. There should be a number of those available at that hour. If those are taken, there is a parking garage on the north side of Hudson, which is accessed off of 2nd Avenue North.
There should be spots available in there at least until 7:30 AM.
