FCC General Counsel Jonathan Sallet and the FCC Year in Review
The FCBA Judicial Committee will host a CLE on Monday, June 23 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. entitled “FCC General Counsel Jonathan Sallet and the FCC Year in Review.” This program will be held at a Wiley Rein LLP, 1776 K Street, NW.
The Committee is pleased welcome Jonathan Sallet, General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, to its traditional end-of-year wrap-up CLE.
The program will begin with Richard Welch and Jake Lewis from the FCC General Counsel’s Office, who will discuss major decisions from the past year affecting the FCC and the communications industries.
Following that presentation, Mr. Sallet will give a talk entitled “The Jurisprudence of Innovation,” in which he will discuss the substantive and procedural challenges for administrative law in grappling with rapid technological innovation and changing competitive conditions; pose questions regarding the range of potential procedural tools that can be employed; and consider how principles such as legal certainty, flexibility, fact-based decision-making and effective access to administrative procedures can be used in constructing regulatory processes.
