Developing Rules for the Broadcast Incentive Auction
The FCBA Wireless Telecommunications and Young Lawyers Committees will hold a CLE on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. on Developing Rules for the Broadcast Incentive Auction. This program will be held at a location to be determined in Washington, DC.
On September 28, the FCC adopted an omnibus NPRM proposing an intricate series of rules to govern the broadcast incentive auction authorized by Congress earlier this year. The NPRM tackles the challenging aspects of making the incentive auction work, including questions of how to determine winning reverse auction prices, the interplay of the reverse and forward auctions, and appropriate interference standards for the broadcast repacking necessary to create contiguous bands of spectrum suitable for mobile broadband services. The CLE will feature panelists from the FCC’s Incentive Auction Task Force and other stakeholders from the wireless and broadcast industries.Registrations and cancellations due by 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 24, 2012.
