Moderator: Amy S. Mushahwar, Associate, Reed Smith LLP

Ethical hackers from SecureIT will demonstrate different types of system and network attacks and vulnerabilities.  Presenters will demonstrate common enterprise vulnerabilities and what can be done about them.

The following topics will be discussed:

Mobile devices – SecureIT will demonstrate some of the types of attacks that are perpetrated by sophisticated attackers, using mobile devices for exploitation of corporate networks.  They also will demonstrate a novel technique for protecting against these and other insidious attacks.

Malware and botnets – SecureIT will demonstrate novel, inexpensive, and easy to deploy techniques for observing malware that has otherwise circumvented network security.  These botnets are the instruments of choice for the large-scale exfiltration of proprietary data from corporate networks.

Application exploitation –SecureIT will demonstrate how individual applications can be exploited through both targeted and “industrial” attacks.  They will then demonstrate a few coding practices that can help protect against these types of challenges.

The technical discussion will be followed by a mock data breach and a discussion of response strategies and tasks.
