New England Chapter Event: New England’s Plans for Broadband Funding

Date/Time: Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 2-6pm EDT

Location: BU College of Communications, PHOTONICS BUILDING, 640 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA 02215

Event Details:
New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association (The Tech Bar) in cooperation with the Boston University College of Communication
The Biden Administration and Congress authorized unprecedented funding for broadband deployment and digital equity. States and industry are gearing up for these opportunities while they grapple with the continued increase in Universal Service Fund assessments. How will New England respond to this generational amount of resources devoted to addressing the digital divide? Will these programs and others finally address coverage gaps and affordability challenges? Do implementation efforts raise competitive concerns among existing and new providers? We will hear a keynote from Russell Hanser, Director of Communications Policy Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications & Information Administration, and we'll get perspectives from across state and local governments, and industry stakeholders. We're excited for the return of our chapter's flagship event for the first time in three years! Reception to follow.

FCBA membership strongly recommended but not required to attend.
