The Changing International Regulatory LandscapeThe FCBA International Telecommunications and Young Lawyers Committees will hold a CLE on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. on The Changing International Regulatory Landscape. This program will be held at Wiley Rein LLP, 1776 K Street, NW.Broadband is the great infrastructure challenge of the twenty-first century. Because of this challenge, the international regulatory landscape is constantly adapting to address the challenges of a broadband world. This challenge has required regulators, such as the Federal Communications Commission in the United States, to adapt both their domestic and international regulations. The areas of review include international settlements policy, foreign market entry, submarine cable landings, among others.Coincident with this change, the global regulatory environment continues to evolve. This past year, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) held its 2012 World Radiocommunications Conference where critical spectrum management issues were addressed. Late in 2012, the ITU will be holding its World Conference on International Telecommunications which will address, among other issues, issues surrounding Internet governance. These events, and other future events, will help shape international communications for years to come.Registrations and cancellations due by 12:00 Noon, Monday, October 1, 2012.
