The FCBA Judicial Committee will hold a CLE on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. on The Judicial Year in Review.  This CLE will be held at Wiley Rein LLP, 1776 K Street, NW, Washington DC.

This program has been approved for 2.0 MCLE credits by the VA and CA State Bars.

6:05 – 7:05 p.m.         The FCC In the Lower Courts:  How The Agency Fared Over The Last Year

                                   

Richard Welch, Acting Associate General Counsel, Federal Communications Commission

 

The Acting Chief of the Litigation Division of the FCC's Office of General Counsel reviews decisions involving the FCC in the lower courts during the past year.

7:15 – 8:15 p.m.         The FCC in The Supreme Court:  FOIA, Entrance Facilities, and Indecency

 

Jacob Lewis, Associate General Counsel, Federal Communications Commission

 

An FCC Associate General Counsel reviews the Supreme Court cases involving the FCC arising during the past Term, including the Court's March 11 Freedom of Information Act decision in FCC v. AT&T, Inc., 131 S. Ct. 1177, its consideration of issues involving access to "entrance facilities" in Talk America v. Michigan, No. 10-313, and the status and First Amendment implications of the government's petition for certiorari in the broadcast indecency cases, FCC v. Fox Television Stations, Inc., No. 10-1293.
