Nuts and Bolts of Applications for Approval of Assignments or Transfers of Licenses in the Broadcast, Cable, and Satellite Industries

The FCBA Transactional Practice Committee will hold a CLE on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. on Nuts and Bolts of Applications for Approval of Assignments or Transfers of Licenses in the Broadcast, Cable, and Satellite Industries. This program will be held at Mayer Brown LLP, 1999 K Street, NW.

FCC staff and a practitioner with years of experience will present and discuss pointers and pitfalls in filing applications for assignments or transfers of FCC licenses in these industries.  Areas covered will include requirements under the statute and rules, as well as best practices and advice on particular issues.  There will be time for questions and discussion.

6:00 – 6:05 p.m.         Welcome and Introductions

6:05 – 7:15 p.m.         Applications and Review:  Basic Requirements and Process

Each speaker will provide an overview of their respective Division, describe their expertise and responsibilities, and explain various aspects of the review and processing of assignment and transfer of control applications.

7:15 – 7:25 p.m.         Break

7:25 – 8:15 p.m.         Practitioner Comment and Specific Issue Discussion

The moderator will lead the speakers in a discussion of topics relating to each Bureau and Division’s processing of assignment and transfer of control applications, including policies regarding the content of such applications, the impact of license renewals in transactions, multiple ownership matters, and consummation considerations.  The discussion will incorporate questions and comments from attendees.
