There are 728 changes for final FY2018 ICD-10-CM Coding (this is 322 more changes than the proposed rule). Changes include 360 new codes, 142 code deletions and 226 code title revisions. This webinar will provide staff with information necessary to code accurately beginning October 1st. Chapters where many of the major ICD-10 code changes occur include Diseases of the Circulatory System (Chapter 9); Diseases of skin & subcutaneous tissue (Chapter 12) Injury, Poisoning and Certain Other Consequences of External Causes (Chapter 19). New codes changes will affect case mix categories: Blindness & Low Vision; Neuro 1; Neuro 2; Diabetes; Ortho 2 and Skin 2. Also reviewed will be the updates to the Official Guidelines for Coding & Reporting. *

Presenter: Joan Usher, BS, RHIA, ACE, President, JLU Health Record Systems is a nationally recognized AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM trainer. Joan has a degree in Health Information Management and has been a home health consultant for over 28 years. She has educated more than 15,000 people in nationwide on coding. Joan is past president of the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association (MaHIMA) and has served three years as a delegate for American Health Information Management Assn (AHIMA). Usher is a Board of Director of Hospice & Palliative Care Federation of MA. Joan's webinars consistently earn outstanding reviews from participants.
