Chris Johnson — Above and Beyond Award Recipient

Q: What does being chosen to receive the Above and Beyond Award mean to you?
A: I always looked at the organization as a place to become a supporter and someone that people trust. At the end of the day, this award acknowledges that what I am doing is the right thing and that my contribution is important and respected. Receiving an award is something that was never expected or sought out.

Q: Why do you think it is important to recognize outstanding Service Associates?
A: It shows that when Service Associates put the time and effort in to bettering the Association, then that is appreciated and valued.

Q: How has your involvement within Illinois ASBO shaped your career?
A: Illinois ASBO has helped me to focus on long-term relationships, while developing potential friendships that go beyond a business relationship. I hope that at some point I am seen as more of an advisor and friend than someone who is just selling a product.

Q: What advice would you give to those that aspire to follow in your footsteps?
A: Get involved. Participating in Illinois ASBO as a member and not just a vendor can only help to enrich your life and career.

Q: Your thoughts on the mission and work of the Illinois ASBO Foundation?
A: What’s great about the Illinois ASBO Foundation is that it furthers the Association and the legacy that has already been built over the years. By investing in the development of new CSBOs, you are investing in your future friends and partners.
