Nesa Brauer

Nesa Brauer has been employed with the Illinois Association of School Boards for 11 years. She is currently a part-time Trainer in the Board Development Department responsible for annual conference planning as well as curriculum development and delivery of workshops. Prior to joining the staff at IASB, Nesa was a secondary teacher in Havana, Illinois for 30 years. Nesa earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Illinois State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from St. Xavier University.

Connie has spent the last 17 years working in the K-12 industry. Her background includes support, professional development, implementation and sales. Connie works for a company that provides a Student and Finance Management software package exclusive to school districts. 


Steve Coffman

Stephen has over 20 years’ experience in corporate benefits and insurance. During the last 17 years he has managed disability and leave teams before serving as Director of Client Solutions for a Top 5 carrier. Stephen’s current position at Guardian Life is Senior Group Practice Leader. In this role he utilizes his extensive absence & disability experience to assist key clients and producers in better understanding disability requirements and possible solutions that create value for companies and their employees.

Beth is a founding member of Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators and has served on the board of IASPA since its inception in 2006 including a term as the President. In addition, she is currently serving on the AASPA Board of Directors and also was the co-chair of the AASPA 2012 Chicago conference.

Roger's career includes 31 years in education, as a superintendent, principal and teacher. Since 2003, Eddy has also served five terms as a State Representative in the Illinois General Assembly.

Sherrie has been a Service Associate of Illinois ASBO since 2001. She currently serves on the following PDCs:  Cash Management and Technology. Sherrie is a Senior Account Manager for RevTrak, an online payment provider that assists business officials by reducing the time and labor associated with collecting various schools fees, enhancing internal controls, simplifying accounting tasks, and integrating with many other district database programs.

Kathy graduated from Northwestern University with an undergraduate degree in Communications and holds a Masters in Educational Administration and a Chief School Business Official endorsement after completing the Illinois ASBO-NIU program in August, 2010.

Prior to Johnsburg, he was a Technology Coordinator and Liturgical Music Educator and Director with the Arch Diocese of Chicago.  R.J. is an active presenter and researcher in the field of PreK-12 technology integration, and is currently completing his dissertation at Northern Illinois University.  In addition to his full time position, R.J. teaches graduate and undergraduate coursework at Aurora University, NIU and Waubonsee Community College.

Chris graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a concentration in Urban Politics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008. He received his law degree and Certificate in Labor and Employment Law with high honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2011, where he was a member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and student editor of the Employee Rights and Employment Policy Journal.

Julie is currently the Assistant Superintendent/Chief School Business Official for the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO). Julie has worked in the field of education for over 30 years, with her entire career focusing on the education of students with special needs. Since completing the CSBO program at NIU in 2001, Julie has worked as a Chief School Business Official for Special Education Cooperatives for the past 15 years.

Kimberly Small is General Counsel for the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB). She advises IASB’s Board of Directors and Executive Director to protect the association from legal and regulatory risks and provides legal support to all departments within the association and frequently collaborates with other associations and regulatory agencies. She is also recognized for her leadership in the mission and operations of public school districts, school boards and board members, superintendents, administrators, and associations, as well as the lives and well-being of their students.
