The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is intended to synchronize data privacy laws across Europe, improve data security for EU citizens, speed notification of data breaches, and penalize companies for insufficient compliance. The regulation is expected to come into effect on May 25, 2018.
For HR, the regulation will have wide-ranging impact on how companies collect, store, process, transfer, and dispose of information on job candidates and employees.
To educate its members on the HR and IT implications of GDPR, IHRIM is running a three-part webinar series in December and January. Members will have the opportunity to hear from experts on how the regulation might impact their organizations and pose questions to the speakers.
Heard about the looming GDPR deadline? Concerned about the 4% gross annual fines for non-compliance? Join us on December 13th to find out what exactly GDPR is and how it affects your relationship with your workforce. The webinar will provide an overview of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including new implications for employers when collecting and processing employee and workforce data. Participants will learn practical tactics to undertake in preparing for the GDPR effective date, and how to prioritize short-term and long-term activities to support compliance. The session will highlight the increased relevancy of workforce privacy as highlighted by this data protection regulation that affects organizations throughout the world.
Three key learning objectives:
1. Participants will be informed about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
2. Participants will be informed about regulatory implications for employee and workforce data.
