The Maine Osteopathic Association Executive Committee is comprised of the President, President-elect, Treasurer and Immediate Past President of the Maine Osteopathic Association. The Executive Committee's role is develop the agenda for the Board of Directors meetings, to provide guidance and direction for the staff of the organization, and to assist with setting the strategic direction for the organization. The Executive Committee provides leadership to the rest of the Board of Directors and also helps to foster communication with local, state and national stakeholders as representatives of the association
The Maine Osteopathic Association Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the MOA and for protecting the future of the osteopathic profession in Maine. The Board is elected by the membership for a three year term. A director may serve no more than three consecutive, (3) three year terms. The Board's role is to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with leadership and general promotion of the Maine Osteopathic Association. The Board meets five times per year and provides guidance, sets policy, and assists with implementing a five year strategic plan.
Committee Charge: To develop a short and long term plan that will
result in financial stability for the organization including
partnering with the Membership Committee on the membership drive to
increase dues revenue; developing new ways to seed our endowment; and
engaging the membership in discussions about planned giving.
Committee Charge: To maximize the base of the membership to operate the association as efficiently and effectively through membership recruitment campaign strategies and outreach. Develop a broader member services package of “Preferred Vendors” and benefits. Provide a nomination slate of awardees for the selection of MOA’s prestigious awards that are announced at the Annual President’s Awards Banquet.
Committee Charge: To actively pursue and monitor legislative agendas pertinent to the successful progress of the Osteopathic Profession; Increase the osteopathic profession visibility with the Maine State Legislature and governmental agencies; Keep members actively informed during the legislative session; address and become active in inter-professional issues; and actively seek donations to the Maine Osteopathic Political Action Committee (MOPAC) to support the Association’s legislative activities and to ensure the election of candidates who support the osteopathic physician community.
Committee Charge: Develop and ensure high quality osteopathic CME programs – Annual Convention and the Mid-Winter Conference; Promote the Osteopathic profession throughout the state of Maine and the New England Region; and Enhance the MOA visibility with residents & students.
Committee Charge: To ensure that the osteopathic profession is represented at the third party payor level (i.e. managed care and health insurance companies), and at the Federal/State Regulatory level (MaineCare, Medicare, Worker’s Comp); Ensure that the effectiveness and efficacy of OMT is demonstrated to third party payors; Inform and educate members on the proper methods of resolving disputes with third party payors, and promote correct coding and billing education to maximize physician reimbursement.
Committee Charge: To increase the visibility and awareness of osteopathic medicine; to promote the Maine Osteopathic Association through timely and effective communication utilizing advanced technology; and to develop short and long-term infrastructure redesign using user-friendly technology for both internal and external communications.
