Leadership is about inspiring, developing and motivating others. It is about “taking people places they wouldn’t have gotten to by themselves.” Many nurse managers are promoted as a result of their clinical expertise. Being a leader requires a different skill set. This full day session will help nurse leaders develop the every day management and leadership skills essential to both their success and a more productive, cohesive work environment.
This highly interactive workshop, incorporating case studies, demonstrations and practice sessions, focuses on providing practical ideas that participants can immediately use back on the job. The instruction is filled with real life examples and stories to make the workshop come alive and help participants apply the knowledge. All participants will receive a professional workbook and curricula materials.
This program is open to any staff that is in a leadership role. Class size is limited so register now!
At the conclusion of this program participants will learn:
The critical elements of employee engagement;
When and how to give recognition;
How to create a positive work environment;
Key principles of effective feedback;
How to skillfully address performance issues; and
How to manage up – creating a positive relationship with your boss.
