Allowing Childhood: The Importance of Play

Nov 02, 2013 01:00pm -
Nov 02, 2013 04:00pm

Event Description

Anastasia Galanopoulos, PhD, instructor

New brain research continues to inform - and remind - us about the social and emotional benefits of play for all children. We will discuss current trends involving structure and stress along with alternative viewpoints emphasizing increased opportunities for play in general and for child-initiated play in particular.  We will learn how professionals can implement and promote such changes and also educate parents about the significance of “play” and “time” in their children’s development.
