Grand Rapids, MI, scheduled for Oct. 19-24. Voting takes place on the
trade show floor, Oct. 22 from 10 AM - Noon.
The NAPT Board of Directors has announced the opening of four positions to be voted on this year:

2013 NAPT ELECTION: SEATS OPEN FOR REGIONS 1 AND 5, AFFILIATE MEMBER AND PRESIDENT-ELECT
Four seats on the NAPT Board of Directors are open for election this year. Any person who wishes to be a candidate for NAPT president-elect or regional director must be an active individual member of the association for at least two years; a candidate for affiliate member director must be a current business partner individual member.
Anyone interested in running for president-elect or regional director must be nominated by a minimum of two active individual members of the association; candidates for regional director must be nominated by individuals from that particular region. Individuals running for affiliate member director must be nominated by at least two current business partner individual members.
The president-elect is selected by vote of all active members. Regional directors are selected by vote of only those active members whose mailing address is within that specific region. The affiliate member director is chosen by NAPT Business Partner Individual Members only. The President Elect serves a 4-year term (2 as President-Elect, 2 as President); the Regional Director serves for 3 years and the Affiliate Member serves for 2 years.

2013 ELECTION DATES & DEADLINES
NAPT Elections Committee Chair Peter F. Mannella has announced the following dates and deadlines for the 2013 NAPT Election:
ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUESTS — Any NAPT member seeking to vote by absentee ballot must send a written request for a ballot to NAPT headquarters. All requests must be received no later than the close of business on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS MAILED TO VOTERS — Official absentee ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters no later than Thursday, September 19, 2013.
ABSENTEE BALLOT RETURN — All absentee ballots must be received at NAPT headquarters no later than Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
Election Day is Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Elections will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on the Trade Show floor from 10:00 – 12:00 Noon.

Section 1 Eligibility
Section 1.01 Any individual who has been nominated for elected office must be a General Member as defined in NAPT By-Laws Article II, Section 2.01.a. for at least two (2) full calendar years (24 months) prior to seeking office.
Section 1.02 Any individual who meets the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 1.01 above may be nominated for the offices of President-elect/Vice-president or Director-at-Large.
Section 1.03 In order to be nominated as a Regional Director, individuals must meet the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 1.01 above and must reside in one of the states within that region.
Section 1.04 In order to be nominated as the Affiliate Director, individuals must meet the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 1.01 above and must be currently employed by an NAPT Affiliate member.
Section 2 Procedure
Section 2.01 Nominations for any elected office must be introduced by a minimum of two (2) individuals who are NAPT General Members in good standing.
Section 2.02 Nominations for the offices of President-elect and Director-at-Large may be introduced by any NAPT General Member in good standing. Nominations for Regional Director must be introduced by a NAPT General Member in good standing whose mailing address of record is within the region the Director will represent. Nominations for Affiliate Director must be introduced by any of the two General Members of NAPT designated by every NAPT Affiliate member.
Section 2.03 Nominations to appear on the absentee ballot for the current election year must be submitted in writing to the Chair of the NAPT Nominations Committee within the nominating period.
Section 2.04 Upon receipt of two (2) valid nominations, the Chair or designated representative of the Nominations Committee shall contact the nominee to confirm the nomination.
Section 2.05 The Nominating Committee shall consider and present all confirmed nominations to the Elections Committee within 5 business days after the close of the nominating period. As part of its deliberations, the Nominating Committee shall request professional information from the nominee in order to ensure the presentment of qualified individuals who have adequate background and experience with the organization and its activities.
Section 3 Nominating Period
Section 3.01 Unless otherwise adopted by the Board of Directors, the nominating period for candidates to be listed on the absentee ballot in each year shall end on September 1 or the next business day thereafter. Nominations shall only be deemed timely if the Chair of the Nominating Committee receives them by the close of business on or before the last day of the nominating period.
