NASL Elects New Board at 29th Annual Meeting
NASL Board Reflects Diversity of Membership & Complexity of Issues Ahead

Washington, DC – The National Association for the Support of Long Term Care (NASL) elected a new president and several new and returning Board members for the association’s Board of Directors during the recent NASL 29th Annual Meeting in San Diego, California. Aegis Therapies’ President & CEO Martha Schram was elected by the NASL Board of Directors to serve as the association’s president. Schram has served as chair of the NASL Medical Services Committee since 2010. Upon her election, NASL President Martha Schram said, “I am honored to serve an organization that I have championed for many years. We carry the patient’s voice to policymakers and I am excited to do this in a new capacity as president.”

The Board of Directors reflects the diversity of the full NASL membership, which ranges from providers – i.e., rehabilitation therapy companies that collectively employ more than 300,000 individuals, to include speech-language pathologists (SLPs), physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs) and other provider groups caring for hundreds of thousands of patients – to health information technology developers; suppliers of therapy and specialized medical products and equipment; and clinical laboratories, portable x-ray and diagnostic testing services that serve the long term and post-acute care sector. This diversity is part of NASL’s strength in dealing with complex health policy issues and why the association has earned a solid reputation among policymakers as an honest broker of health policy.

I look forward to continuing to work with this outstanding Board and its new president, Martha Schram.”
