Early Bird Workshop – Advocacy 201

This year's Winter Conference will again offer an Early Bird Workshop, Advocacy 201.  A professional advocacy consultant will build on last year's Advocacy 101 to help your communications to Capitol Hill stand out from the crowd.

Speaker:  David K. Rehr, Ph.D.  With over 25 years of experience in advocacy through leading major trade associations, Dr. Rehr will help attendees leverage their influence on Capitol Hill, based on research he has conducted with Hill staff through the Center for Principled Political Leadership at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.

**This special workshop is included in your conference registration.**

2:15 - 4:15pm

ONC Speaker & NASL IT Committee Meeting
What do "interoperability" and "health information exchange" mean - and why do LTPAC providers need to understand both? All NASL members will benefit from hearing ONC Chief Science Officer Doug Fridsma.  Even though he is one of the chief architects of the federal government's effort to advance health IT adoption and use, Dr. Fridsma has a knack for speaking plainly and understandably about very complex concepts, including federal policy timelines that will affect LTPAC providers.

Speaker:  Doug Fridsma, MD, PhD, Chief Science Officer and Director of the Office of Science and Technology, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC)
