Social Work in the Age of #MeToo: Working with Victims and Survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault

Course Abstract:

  • An expansion on the Me Too movement and a discussion of sexual assault, harassment, domestic abuse, and the intersection of these topics.
  • Discuss what these issues and experiences actually are, how to identify them in your clients, and the impacts that they can have on clients.
  • Learn an approach to domestic abuse and sexual harassment from a trauma-informed perspective:
    • Expand your knowledge base on specific how-to's for trauma-informed practice, and clearly define what trauma and trauma-informed really mean for us and our clients.
