Tewksbury REALTOR® Jeffrey Borstell Selected as One of the Nationwide “30 Under 30” Rising Stars in the Real Estate Industry

NEAR Celebrates Having a Local Recipient for the Second Straight Year

(MERRIMACK & NASHOBA VALLEYS) — The Northeast Association of REALTORS® (NEAR) reported today that Jeffrey Borstell was selected as one of the nationwide 30 under 30 class of 2015 by REALTOR® Magazine.  Each year, REALTOR® Magazine features 30 rising young stars in the real estate industry, and every year hundreds of real estate practitioners apply to be one of the 30 honorees.  The 2015 REALTORS® 30 under 30 was announced today by REALTOR® Magazine, and Borstell will be featured in the May/June issue.

In his application for this distinction, Borstell explained his specialty area: “Local builders and rehabbers rely on my abilities to find them profitable properties and to determine accurate values after they make repairs. Finding these properties is a skill in itself.”

Borstell also described his determination, recounting that, “Any time I drive by a home that is in disrepair, I get out of my car and approach the homeowner. Developing relationships with these homeowners has paid tremendous dividends.”

NEAR President Ryan Schruender said, “We are all very proud of Jeffrey and his accomplishments.  As the announcement pointed out, he had a successful 2014, but what the announcement does not say, which we really appreciate at the Association, is that he recently completed the REALTOR® Professional Standards training and was appointed to the NEAR Grievance Committee, which reviews written ethics and arbitration requests to determine whether a hearing is warranted.  He also has served on the NEAR Young Professionals Network Committee since 2013, and was a member of a recent focus group which helped NEAR prepare for crafting its new strategic plan.  We congratulate Jeffrey and thank him for representing NEAR and the Merrimack Valley with this national distinction.”

Schruender added that, “We are very proud that NEAR has a 30 Under 30 recipient for the second straight year, after Kathryn Early received this distinction in 2014.  It’s great for NEAR and our region to receive this national exposure two years in a row, as we are just one of 1,500 local chapters of the National Association of REALTORS®.”

REALTOR® Magazine is the official magazine of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and the business tool for real estate professionals.  The magazine advances real estate best practices, brings expert insight to significant trends, and provides REALTORS® with timely decision-making tools on business purchases and strategies.

The Northeast Association of REALTORS® is one of 1,500 local chapters of the National Association of REALTORS®. Officially, NEAR covers 15 cities and towns from Boxford to Littleton, though it has members from more than 50 cities and towns in the Merrimack and Nashoba valleys as well as southern New Hampshire.  The term, REALTOR®, is a trademark for use exclusively by members of the National Association of REALTORS®, whose members subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics.
