Annual Awards Committee:

Recommends to the Board of Directors member award categories and criteria for member recognition, as well as a slate of eligible award nominees for the Recognition Gala, our most popular annual event. Also works to ensure the success of the program. Affiliates and REALTORS® welcome!

 

Community Service Committee:

Plans and implements Community Service projects such as the annual Hat & Mitten Drive, a Charity Golf Tournament, projects with local schools, and more. Affiliates & REALTORS® welcome!

 

Education Committee:

Fosters knowledge, integrity, and professionalism among NEAR REALTORS®. Includes planning continuing education, designation courses, and non-continuing education courses. Affiliates and REALTORS® welcome!

 

Finance Committee:

Oversees fiscal matters at NEAR, including recommending fiscal policy, monitoring fiscal condition, and overseeing development of Annual Budget for recommendation to the Board of Directors. REALTORS® only.

 

Grievance Committee:

Reviews written ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine whether or not a hearing is warranted. Prerequisite: all-day training in Professional Standards every 2 years; Board of Directors selects members from qualified applicants. REALTORS® only.

 

Membership Recruitment Task Force:

Works to recruit Affiliate members, brokers and agents in non-REALTOR® firms and new licensees as REALTORS® members; and, works to recruit REALTORS® from other local Boards as secondary REALTOR® members. Operational from June to October, 2010. Affiliates and REALTORS® welcome!

 

Political Involvement Committee:

Supports homeownership and protects private property rights by obtaining member donations to RPAC; plans the legislative “meet and greet” events and any RPAC fundraisers; works to achieve maximum member participation in RPAC and REALTOR® Day on Beacon Hill; and highlights important Government Affairs information for members. Affiliates and REALTORS® welcome!

 

Presidential Advisory Group on Media & Public Relations:

Ensures that regular housing information is disseminated to the local news media, works to enhance the REALTOR® Image locally, and takes advantage of and develops local speaking opportunities. Affiliates and REALTORS® welcome!

 

Professional Standards Committee:

This Committee does not hold meetings.  Members are, from time to time, asked to serve on Hearing Panels to hear matters of alleged unethical conduct by Members or arbitration requests. Prerequisite: all-day training in Professional Standards every 2 years; Board of Directors selects members from qualified applicants. REALTORS® only.

 

Young Professionals Committee:

Will work to become a recognized YPN Chapter by the National Association of REALTORS®, build online social networking pages, put together networking events, recruit committee/YPN members, and help build a strong networking group for young REALTORS® entering the business of Real Estate. Affiliates and REALTORS® welcome!

  • Annual Awards Committee

  • Board of Directors
    Sets policy. Maintains ultimate authority. From the Bylaws: "The governing body of the Board shall be a Board of Directors consisting of the elected officers and six (6) REALTOR® Members of the Board who are elected according to the provisions of these Bylaws. The president shall be chairman. The Directors of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS (as provided in the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® Bylaws) shall also be members during their terms of office. The Directors of the National Association of REALTORS® (as provided for in the National Association of REALTORS® Bylaws) shall also be members during their terms of office."
  • Community Service Committee
    The Community Service Committee plans and implements Community Service projects such as the annual Food Drive Drive, School Supply Drive, Toy Drive, and more.
  • Education Committee
    The purpose of the NEAR Education Committee is to foster knowledge, integrity, and professionalism among NEAR REALTOR® and Affiliate members.
  • Finance Committee
    The Finance Committee oversees fiscal matters at NEAR, including recommending fiscal policy, monitoring fiscal condition, and overseeing development of Annual Budget for recommendation to the Board of Directors.
  • Nominating Committee
    To study, investigate and present to the REALTOR® members a slate of eligible candidates duly qualified to serve as elected officers or members of the Board of Directors for the ensuing year.
  • Political Involvement Committee
    The Political Involvement Committee supports homeownership and protects private property rights by obtaining member donations to RPAC; plans the legislative “meet and greet” events and any RPAC fundraisers; works to achieve maximum member participation in RPAC and REALTOR® Day on Beacon Hill; and highlights important Government Affairs information for members.
  • REALTOR® of the Year Committee
    1) To give recognition, publicity and reward to deserving REALTORS® for effort, time and talent expanded in the interest of their fellow Realtors, their profession, and their community; 2) To foster a spirit of competition among REALTORS® who are in a position to contribute fresh thinking and productive effort to undertakings of our REALTOR® organization; and, 3) To encourage participation of all members and NOT necessarily to honor someone who has had his share of the spotlight.
  • Young Professionals Committee
    Works to build participation in board activities by young and “young at heart” professionals by supporting many NEAR Committee efforts including Community Service projects, hosting networking events and roundtable discussions, and building a strong networking group for new REALTORS® entering the business of Real Estate.
