About NEAR (Consumers)

The Northeast Association of REALTORS® (NEAR) is a professional trade association representing the interests of over 1,400 real estate professionals in the the Merrimack and Nashoba Valleys. It is one of 16 local REALTOR® Associations in Massachusetts which have been granted the charter to use and monitor usage of the term REALTOR®' by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). REALTOR® is a registered mark which identifies a professional in real estate who subscribes to a strict Code of Ethics as a member of the REALTOR® Association.

NEAR provides its REALTOR® members with an array of real estate-related programs, products and services, including professional development, legislative advocacy, and business enhancers. Additionally, NEAR regularly responds to queries from the general public and promotes use of Association members in facilitating the transfer of real property. As with the entire REALTOR® Association, NEAR does not enforce real estate law or issue real estate licenses, its mechanism for ensuring fairness and integrity in real estate transactions is the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

NEAR members also maintain membership in the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
