NLADA brings together defenders, social workers, and community activists for five days of training, networking, and strategizing at the Holistic Defense and Leadership Conferences. You may register for one, two, three, or all four of the following events.
June 3-4, 2019: The NASAMS Fundamentals of Mitigation Certificate Program (NASAMS Certificate) will be held in conjunction with the 2019 NASAMS Conference .This program will provide participants with training from nationally recognized experts in the field. The small class size will ensure quality instruction, coaching, and hands-on learning. In addition, participants will receive sample materials, organizational tools, sample reports, and E-tools to assist with their practice. This is an intensive training offered to beginners or professionals who want to refresh their mitigation skills. (Members $300/Non-Members $425 thru May 5)
June 3-4, 2019: The National Alliance of Sentencing Advocates and Mitigation Specialists (NASAMS) Conference will offer an opportunity for social workers and mitigation specialists who work on holistic defense teams to receive cutting edge training from experienced and nationally recognized experts. CLE and CEU will be provided. (Members $175/Non-Members $300 thru May 5)
June 5-6, 2019: The Community-Oriented Defender (COD) Network Conference is the annual gathering of community defenders and activists that offers intensive training, networking, and unique learning opportunities aimed at energizing and strengthening holistic defense team work. CLE and CEU will be provided. (Members $175/Non-Members $300 thru May 5)
June 6-7, 2019: The Black Public Defenders Association (BPDA) Conference will provide skills-based training, professional development, and leadership training. This is the first conference for the new BPDA section of NLADA, and it offers attendees the opportunity to train, dialogue, and network with other black public defenders. The goal of BPDA is to improve the quality of defense provided to low-income communities across the United States by creating and maintaining a national network of skilled Black public defenders who identify with and are committed to the populations they serve.
