Better Together: Collaborating for Maximum Impact

To collaborate, or not collaborate. That seems to be the question for many in the nonprofit sector these days. One that often leads to more questions… How much more could we accomplish in our communities if we joined forces? How much stronger might we be together than we are on our own? What level of partnership are we looking for – and with whom?  Where do we even start?

On Wednesday, April 25, the Northeast Library District and the PA Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) are excited to host “Better Together: Collaborating for Maximum Impact”, to bring this conversation to life. This half-day program will feature:

1. A high-level introduction to collaboration, exploring different levels of partnership and what it means to truly work together

2. A panel of local organizations who have “been there, done that”, sharing honest insights into the challenges, realities, and successes of their journeys in collaboration

3. A tactical, hands-on workshop all about putting these real-life lessons into place, including policy suggestions, tips for building trust, and ending a partnership

4. Food – did we mention breakfast is on us?

This presentation will cover different levels of collaboration, the importance of collaboration for sustainability, and lessons learned.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Panel Discussion: The Courage to Collaborate
This panel includes United Neighborhood Center, Advocacy Alliance, The Luzerne Foundation, and United Way of Wyoming Valley/Berwick

11:00 AM – 11:20 AM – Break & Visit with Sponsors

11:20 AM – 12:20 PM – The “Now What” of Collaboration
Facilitated by Anne Gingerich, Executive Director, PANO
This presentation will cover building trust, being vulnerable, putting important policies and other documents in place (like an MOU) to clearly define expectations, and identifying when to enter into or when to walk away from a partnership opportunity.

12:20 – 12:30 PM – Closing Remarks, Evaluations, and More Networking
