Description

The Courage to Make the Case (for Support): Calculated Risk-Taking for Sustainability
Presented by: Debbie Thompson, President, Strategy Solutions

Leading sustainable organizations in today’s environment requires courage, skill, and the ability to make a stronger case for support that will resonate with donors and funders.  This often requires a shift from “the way we’ve always done it” toward a more strategic approach to program development and fundraising.  In this highly interactive workshop, featuring an audience response polling system, participants will identify trends and opportunities in the current environment – despite funding cuts and other challenges, and learn how to quantify community needs, articulate how your mission and program(s) address those needs, determine the true costs of running your program(s), get past your “immunity to change”, and identify the return on investment to drive your case for support.  Participants will also walk through a self-assessment of how well internal systems support the fundraising process, thus setting the stage for a practical, candid discussion regarding role clarification and improving organizational effectiveness.
