Webinar #5 - Transitions

PSA and U.S. Figure Skating are pleased to announce the Program Component Competitive Series, a coach-focused webinar series, covering the criteria for each of the five IJS Program Components.
This 5th installment of our 5 Webinar series, “Transitions” will cover the 6 criterion used to evaluate transition as a Program Component. We will explore ideas on how to translate these criterion into tangible instruction and examine several examples that express the key concepts.
Additionally, a short recap of the Program Component rule revision that was presented in Webinar #1, Skating Skills will be presented.
The Transitions webinar will be hosted by Doug Williams and Derrick Delmore.
Derrick Delmore is an international coach/choreographer for athletes representing Team USA, as well as other skating federations around the world. A former singles skater, he earned a World Junior title, a U.S. Olympic Festival title, a national collegiate title, and was a member of Team USA for 14 consecutive seasons. Derrick sits on the U.S. Figure Skating Board of Directors, and is a member of nine other U.S. Figure Skating committees. He holds Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Communication from Stanford University.
Doug Williams is a former competitor who competed at the national, international, and world level. As a part of his competitive training, he had dance and music training with Ricky Harris for over 15 years. Doug is a gold medalist in figures, frees kating, and pairs, and has also passed his pre-gold dances. His service and activity with US Figure Skating includes the following: Vice Chair of Athletes Advisory Committee; Athlete member of the Executive Committee/Board of Directors; Chair of International Committee and ICMS; member of numerous committees including Competitions, Judges, Memorial Fund, Strategic Planning and Technical Panel. Doug is a US Figure Skating official with the following Singles/Pairs appointments: National Judge, National Technical Controller, National Specialist and National Video Operator. Doug is also an ISU Singles & Pairs judge and International Referee.
