Event Description

Connecting Communities

Our ministries are changing. From the start, the United Methodist Church created orphanages, shelters and widows’ homes to house and serve poor, vulnerable populations within our communities. Today, our diverse member ministries have transformed into residences serving children, youth and family with complex needs, community outreach programs and multi-site senior communities.

Today, many of your organizations are revisiting your mission and the way you serve, exploring more home and community-based options to extend your reach. Now more than ever, we must stay connected to each other and our United Methodist roots of service to find ways to partner with, and strengthen, each of our member ministries so that together we can expand the footprint of service in new ways.

This two-day event is designed with broad appeal for service organization leaders, community outreach ministries, bishops, chaplains, Annual Conference Health and Welfare representatives, United Methodist-related foundations, and business partners all of whom are committed to quality of service to diverse populations including seniors, children, youth, families, and persons with emotional or developmental disabilities.
