Veterinary Licensing Information
The Vermont Board of Veterinary Medicine within the Office of Professional Regulation licenses veterinarians, administers the rules, and handles consumer complaints against veterinarians.

License renewal: Licenses are up for renewal every other year. Current veterinary licenses are valid through May 31, 2021. If your license has expired or you need a copy of your license, please contact the the Vermont Board of Veterinary Medicine. You can log into their online licensing here: https://secure.professionals.vermont.gov/prweb/ybVBleIGIHMlPa8qpM9BaiNEZfDPENuF*/!STANDARD and print a copy of your license. If are unsure if you have an online account, click the “forgot user ID” link on the login page and enter your information. If no account information is found, you will need to register. Do not create an additional account if you already have one.
Continuing education requirements: Documentation of 24 hours of continuing education from Board-approved programs is required for license renewal. The VVMA is an approved CE provider, and the Board maintains a list of pre-approved providers and programs on their website. Veterinarians are encouraged to seek pre-approval from the Board for a CE course before attending the event in question if the CE provider is not on the list of approved providers.
