The End
of Membership as We Know It
Sarah Sladek, author
of The End of Membership as We Know It: Building the Fortune-Flipping,
Must-Have Association of the Next Century
Today,
the competition is cut-throat and membership as a commodity holds little value.
Associations are facing the economic equivalent of a sprawling sewage plant
being built next to their luxury tower. As a result, associations are challenged more than ever before to retain membership, market to prospective members, and raise revenue.
Rather
than negotiate and haggle your way back to the top using traditional methods,
learn revolutionary membership models to put your association on the
fortune-making fast-track. These concepts will help your association
build a sustainable, prosperous, next generation association that will corner
the marketplace and keep members coming back for more.
In
this presentation you will learn how the definition and delivery of membership
is changing and how to:
·
Prove your association’s value and provide a
must-have membership
·
Eliminate the competition and corner the
market;
·
Determine which membership model
provides the most income potential; and
·
Measure
the value of, and demand for, your association’s membership benefits.

About Sarah Sladek
Concerned about declining engagement in our
nation’s membership associations, non-profits, and workplaces, Sarah
Sladek founded XYZ University to help organizations bridge generation and
talent gaps. Launched in 2002, XYZ
University remains one of the only companies in the U.S. dedicated to the
generational topic and helping organizations sustain by staying relevant to,
and engaging the participation of, Generations X, Y, and Z.
Sladek is the author of three
books. The New Recruit: What Your
Association Needs to Know About X, Y, & Z (2007) was the first book
to address the generation gap in membership associations. She immediately followed with a second book geared towards
bridging the talent gap in the workplace,
Rock Stars Incorporated: Hiring the High-Performance, High-Maintenance Hotshots
Half Your Age (2008), and launched a national conference addressing the
topic. Her most recent book is a bestseller. The End of Membership As We Know It: Building the Fortune-Flipping,
Must-Have Association of the Next Century (2011) helps membership associations regain their foothold in the
marketplace despite recent economic and demographic challenges.

Holiday Event Community Outreach - Support the Troops by Donating Wish List Items
Support The Troops was started in 2007 by one mother sending care packages to her sons overseas. After hearing from her sons when they were deployed that other soldiers did not receive mail, she was compelled to start sending boxes to others as well. The momentum continued, even when her children returned home, and Support the Troops WI was created. The organization has grown from a one room operation at her home to a donated store front with many volunteers. All of the items for the care packages and postage are from donations, and to date, more than 5,600 care packages (that's about $62,000 in postage) have been sent to our troops deployed all around the world.
WSAE invites you to support the troops by bringing wish list items to this year's Holiday Event. For more information on Support the Troops and a complete list of Wish List items, visit http://www.supportthetroopswi.com/donate/wishlist/.
