Mr. Ken Alexander

Mr. Alexander is Director of Millenium Management Services and has over 25 years of experience consulting with and lecturing to thousands of orthodontic practices in North America and Europe. Ken delivers a wealth of practical information on efficiency, management and marketing systems, and also works extensively with office design, practice valuations and partnerships.

Ken received a B.A. from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He received an M. Div. and four years of graduate training in psychology, communications, human relations and public speaking from Biola University, in La Mirada, California.He is a polished lecturer who instills great motivation with a lecture style that is dynamic, practical and to the point.

Dr. S. Jay Bowman

Dr. Bowman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a Fellow of both the International and the American College of Dentists, Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy International Honor Organization, a charter member of the World Federation of Orthodontists and is a Regent of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation.He developed and teaches the straightwire course at The University of Michigan, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Saint Louis University, and an Assistant Clinical Professor, Case Western Reserve University.He received the Angle Research Award in 2000 and the Alumni Merit Award from Saint Louis University in 2005.

Ms. Jennifer Cochrane

Ms. Cochrane is a newly retired Senior Lecturer- Emerita, from the Department of Communication Studies in the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. She taught the basic public speaking course for 32 years in addition to Voice and Diction, and a new course dealing with computer mediated communication.

Her other areas of expertise include online course development and mediated communication. She is the author of a book: Teaching Public Speaking Online (Mc Graw-Hill) and while she was at IUPUI, she created the School’s first totally online Certificate in Communication Studies entitled: Human Communication in a Mediated World.



Ms. Elizabeth Franklin

Ms. Franklin has worked in the property & casualty insurance claims industry for over 30 years, handling, supervising and managing many different types of claims, from auto and product liability, to medical and legal malpractice. For the past ten years she has been the Claims Manager at AAO Services, Inc.; she and her staff handle professional liability claims nationwide for The American Association of Orthodontists Insurance Company (AAOIC) (RRG), an insurer which markets malpractice insurance coverage to orthodontists. Based on her specialization and experience, she is an excellent source of information about the issues and occurrences in orthodontic offices that often result in malpractice allegations. Ms. Joan Garbo

Over the past 30 years, Joan has led more than 2000 seminars and has trained hundreds of dental professionals in effective communication skills, self-expression, customer service, team-building, leadership goals and other related topics that enable individuals to experience life more fully and accomplish their goals.Her high energy level, sense of humor, and enthusiasm inspire people to action, giving them a renewed sense of purpose and the resources for self-motivation. To quote one of her fans, “Joan says what every doctor wants the staff to hear, and what every staff want their doctor to hear.”



Dr. Nan Hatch

Dr. Hatch is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hatch received her clinical orthodontic training and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr Hatch is the GLAO representative to the AAO’s Council on Scientific Affairs, a member of the GLAO board and on the editorial review board of the AJODO. Dr. Hatch’s research interests include basic and translational research in bone biology and the biologic basis of abnormal craniofacial development, as well as the development of biologic mediators for orthodontic tooth movement and retention. Dr. Hatch’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, The Hartwell Foundation and the University of Michigan’s Fund for Orthodontic Excellence.
In addition to her research, Dr. Hatch treats patients in the University of Michigan’s Orthodontic Faculty Practice and teaches in both the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral didactic and clinical orthodontic curriculum.



Ms. Krista Hoffmann-Longtin

Krista Hoffmann-Longtin, ABD, is the Director of Programs and Evaluation at the IU School of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development. Her work focuses on developing programs, policies, and research to increase the awareness and effectiveness of the institution’s nearly 1,500 faculty members. Since 2002, she has served as a faculty member in the IUPUI Department of Communication Studies, teaching courses in interpersonal communication, media and society, and the history of television. Krista is also a doctoral candidate in Education Leadership at IU. Her research interests include organizational change, teaching and learning, and gender issues in higher education.



 

Dr. Sarandeep Huja

Dr. Sarandeep Huja is Professor and Division Chief of Orthodontics at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Huja initially received his dental and orthodontic training from India. From 1993-2001, he was associated with three US institutions, receiving his MS (1995) from Marquette University, Milwaukee, his PhD (1999) and Orthodontic Certificate (1999) from Indiana University, Indianapolis and his DDS (2001) from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, Lincoln. He has been PI/Co-I on grants from the NIDCR, NIA, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Delta Dental and the American Association of Orthodontist Foundation. His research seeks to understand bone remodeling and adaptation to physical forces. His clinical interests include skeletal anchorage, biomechanics of tooth movement and an interdisciplinary focus to treating patients with compromised malocclusions. He is an Orthodontic consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation. He is currently on the Editorial Review Board of the Angle Orthodontist, American Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Dental Biomechanics. Dr. Huja is a member of the Angle Society and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Huja maintains an intramural faculty practice.



Dr. Gregory J. Jorgensen

Dr. Greg Jorgensen has been practicing orthodontics in Rio Rancho, New Mexico for 20 years. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University, Washington University in St. Louis, and The University of Iowa. He currently serves as the chairman of the American Association of Orthodontists Committee on Information Technology where his assignment is to identify, evaluate, and make recommendations about current trends that affect the AAO and its members. He has lectured on and published numerous articles about social media for orthodontists.



Dr. Richard Kulbersh

Dr. Kulbersh is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and received his M.S. in Orthodontics from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School.He has been a full-time member of the orthodontic staff at the University of Detroit Mercy since 1975.He has lectured at local, national, and international meetings, and is a Diplomate of the ABO, a Fellow of both the ACD and ICD, a member of the AAO and Midwest Angle Society as well as many other dental organizations.Dr. Kulbersh has been Chairman and Program Director of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry since 1985.



Ms. Kristin Leavitt

Ms. Leavitt loves collaborating with practices to create automation and efficiency. She has assisted hundreds of dental and orthodontic practices implement online strategies that positively impact the practice bottom line. Her passion to help every doctor grow their practice and strengthen patient loyalty is relayed in a very personable and genuine manner. Kristin has been a proud member of the Sesame team since July 2006.

Dr. Edward Y. Lin

Dr. Ed Lin is one of two partners at Orthodontic Specialists of Green Bay (OSGB ) and is also one of two partners at Apple Creek Orthodontics of Appleton (ACOA). Dr. Lin received both his dental (DDS) and orthodontic (MS) degrees from Northwestern University Dental School. OSGB and ACOA are both completely digital practices and have been utilizing SureSmile since February of 2004 at three different practice locations. Dr Lin has been utilizing cone beam computer tomography in his practices since 2005. Dr. Lin converted his practice to a 100% SureSmile practice in February of 2006. Dr. Lin helped to lead tests of cone-beam applications for integration with creating the SureSmile wires for active therapeutic treatment of patients. Dr Lin is an internationally recognized speaker, has written several articles that have been published in a wide variety of dental journals, and has lectured at several orthodontic residency programs across the country. He is also a Faculty and Clinical Advisory Board Member for SureSmile and is on the Editorial Board of OrthoTown and Orthodontic Practice journals.



Mr. Steven P. McEvoy

Mr. McEvoy is an IT professional and Project Manager working for MME Consulting, Inc, a computer company that specializes in serving Orthodontic Practices nationwide. He has 15+ years working hands on with the technologies used in Orthodontic practices like yours. Mr. McEvoy is currently serving as a member of the AAO Committee on Information Technology.

Dr. Juan Martin Palomo

Dr. Juan Martin Palomo is the Director of Orthodontics, and the director of the Craniofacial Imaging Center at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio USA.Dr. Palomo has presented both nationally and internationally, and authored several peer-reviewed publications on the topic of informatics and craniofacial imaging. Dr. Palomo’s career contributions to craniofacial imaging have been recognized through research awards in both medical and dental fields.Dr. Palomo strives to bring craniofacial biology to the forefront of the community at large as he is the primary advisor for the Medical Imaging Exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center.He is an active member of both the Orthodontics and the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Associations, and is a member of the AAO Committee on Information Technology.Dr. Palomo currently represents the AAO in the preparation of a position paper on the use of CBCT in orthodontics.



Dr.William R. Proffit

Dr. Proffit, Kenan Distinguished Professor of Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina, was chairman of that department from 1975 to 2001. He is the author of Contemporary Orthodontics, now in its 5th
edition and published in fourteen languages, and co-author of Contemporary Treatment of Dentofacial Deformity and two other books on surgical-orthodontic treatment. Other publications include over 180 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and more than 50 book chapters and invited contributions. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and among other awards has been recognized for excellence in clinical research with the Norton Ross award of the American Dental Association, for teaching excellence with the Jarabak Award of the American Association of Orthodontists, and for contributions to orthodontics with the Ketcham Award from the American Board of Orthodontics.
