It is with the great sadness that we announce the passing of MAAO Executive Director, Robert "Bob" J. Ellia.  Bob served this Association as the 1st Executive Director since July 1, 2008.  We will be honoring him in our MAAO Newsletter.  If you should like to share your memories, stories or anecdotes about Bob, please click the following link, Thoughts, or send an email to Christine Purple at adminasst@maao.org.

The Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers (MAAO) and the Northeast Association (NRAAO) of Assessing Officers would like to invite you to participate in the 2018 NRAAO Annual Conference.  Conference Registration will be online the middle of February!  Be sure to book your hotel room as the block will fill up fast.  Book your group rates online for NRAAO/MAAO Conference.  Last day to book at the discounted rate is April 9, 2018!

Basic Excel for Assessors

This course run form 9 am - 4 pm.  Lunch is on your own. There will be 6 MAAO credits for this course.

The fee for members: $125 and non-members $200.

This is a hands-on workshop which is geared to the user that is familiar with Excel and is looking to strengthen their skill in the use of the program. You must bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel 2007 or above and have at least a working knowledge of Excel.  Most of us were never shown the basics of Excel; we learned by trial and error.  This course reviews the basics of Excel and creates a solid foundation to build your Excel skills.  Basic Excel for Assessors covers the following topics: How to create a formula; Understand the different saving options; Copying and pasting with cell references; Formatting text, numbers, time, and dates; Merging data from two separate cells; Inserting charts and pictures; Creating tables; Copying formulas; Printing spreadsheets, including headers, footers, and page numbers; Freezing panes; Using templates; Applying themes; Customizing the quick access toolbar; Changing Excel’s default settings; Other time-saving tips and techniques.
