Cybersecurity: Protecting Your Clients and Practice
Steven Ryder, President/Owner TrueNorth Networks
Every day our law and accountancy clients trust us with their privileged personal and financial information. At the same time, our small or medium-sized business uses the internet for client communication, reporting, education, and new-client attraction plus various cloud-based software to efficiently deliver client care. Unfortunately, cybersecurity threats are working 24/7/365 to gain access for evil. Are your network, client, and business information protected? This educational program will discuss the essential cybersecurity components to minimize your practice and client’s risk.
Learning Objective:
- Understand the cybersecurity threat landscape
- Summarize cybersecurity practice fundamentals
- Review cybersecurity policies and standards
- Analyze the next steps with a security breach
- Discuss and review case studies
Steven Ryder started the company on April 1, 2002, originally as WAN Strategies. Initially, he had a partner, however as the company struggled early on to survive, he ended up buying out his partner in hopes he could turn the company around. They originally started out becoming experts in SSL VPN technology at the time, which was leading edge during those years as something to differentiate themselves from the competition. It took a few years to begin to see the fruits of their labor. Eventually in 2007, for better name recognition (and a Rotary dare!), Steven decided to change the name of the company to True North Networks. He has well over 25 years in finance and technology fields, and the company has clients spread out across the United States. He enjoys coming to work each day as he has an incredible team that works exceptionally well together to provide fantastic support to their customers.
