About the Presenter

Robert L. Erwin

Bob graduated from Mississippi State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting. After graduation Bob worked in the tax departments of Arthur Anderson & Co and Tenneco, Inc. He also completed a three year tour with the U.S. Army. While with Tenneco, Inc. and Melton & Melton, Bob pursued a law degree and passed the bar in 1974. Bob became a partner in 1975. Since that time Bob has participated in all phases of Melton & Melton's tax practice including tax research, income and estate tax planning preparation, Internal Revenue Service and State Controversies. Bob has served companies in oil and gas, construction and real estate development. Bob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Houston Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Association of Attorney Certified Public Accountants, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Houston Bar Association.

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION

AAA-CPA continuing education programs are designed to meet the needs of Attorneys and CPAs and to qualify for credit both as CPE and CLE. Of course, the decisions of various state authorities determine the actual credit granted. There are no prerequisites or advance preparation requirements for this course.

Accounting CPE/Legal CLE/MCLE

The American Association of Attorney-CPAsis registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its  website www.learningmarket.org. A brochure with full details of the program is available from the association at 888-288-9272. These programs meet the NASBA standards of 1 (50 minute) hour of instruction.
