Program Description

Join the AAA-CPA and Rebecca Peikes, MST, CPA of RSM US, LLP on July 20th in an informative discussion of Pennsylvania and federal trust taxation.  Rebecca will provide us with an overview of Pennsylvania rules related to grantor trusts (including significant differences as compared to the federal rules), trust residency determinations, resident withholdings and resident credits and the effect of Pennsylvania taxes paid by grantor.  Rebecca will also address the state laws related to capital gains and the federal 65 day election along with the Section 645 election.  Other issues will include fiduciary accounting income, passive versus active requirements and the distinction between principal and interest.  This discussion will enhance the ability of our members to draft accurate trust documents and to properly report trust items on both state and federal returns.
